Ponderings

I read this passage weekly:

“We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection.” —Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection, p. 26

And this question, which I learned from a wise therapist:

"When I expose the darkest depths of my current limitations, can you still love me?”

Gertrude Stein defined love as "the skillful audacity required to share an inner life." It suggests that expressing the truth about who you are is not something that amateurs do very well. Practice and ingenuity are required.
